Great Wake Up
ON Saturday, October 17, David Hanson MP was greeted by shoppers in Mold when he pledged his support for the “Great Wake Up: call to climate change. Shoppers signed a petition calling on the Prime Minister to lead the delegation to deliver a fair deal on climate change at the meeting of world leaders in Copehagen in December.

Mold Town Concert Band
ON Friday, October 9, Mold Town Concert Band presented “Marches to Music” at Llanfwrog Community Centre, Ruthin. The evening proved to be a great success with proceeds being donated to Ruthin church and the community centre.

Service
THERE will be an ecumenical service on Sunday, October 25, at 7.45pm at Parkfields Community Centre, Mold, led by David Blainey.

Brass Band
THE North Wales Brass Band Association will be holding its annual championship at Bryn Coch School, Mold between 10am and 6pm on Saturday, November 21.
This will be the first time the prestigious event has been held in Mold and if successful the association would hope to return in following years. There are 18 senior and nine youth bands affiliated to the association from across North Wales most of whom will be taking part in the event. A total in excess of 500 bandsmen and bandswomen plus supporters, friends and parents. This event will prove to be very positive for Mold and will give visitors the chance to see Mold’s shopping centre, places of interest and to enjoy Mold’s wide range of places to eat and drink.

Darby and Joan Club
FOLLOWING the competition of the internal refurbishment of the Darby and Joan Club, Mold a grant from the Community Action Partnership of £4,800 will be contributed towards the total cost involved in the final phase of the works that will provide disabled access and an improved frontage of the building. The total cost of these works is an estimated £10,000.

Pensioners luncheon club is held on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Only £3.50 per meal, newcomers welcome.

Lecture
CADFAS will be holding a lecture on “The Age of Oak” at the Clwyd Room, Clwyd Theatr Cymru, Mold on October 28 from 7.30pm until 8pm.
The talk will be given by Janusz Karlzewski-Slowikowski, Msc, BEd and admission is £7.

Events at King’s Christian Centre
SUNDAY worship at King’s Christian Centre is held at 10.30am, followed by refreshments.
Worship at this week’s All-Age service was led by Marc Cavallini.  The children joined in an activity to think about the lives of street children; Marc and Rafe Cavallini performed a sketch to highlight the need for deeds deeds to match words, and visitor Gerard Vandervegt of Good Shepherd Homes shared how God led him to work with street children in India. 
King’s has regular prayer, study and fellowship groups for all ages and interests, including Alpha courses for those wanting to explore the Christian faith in an informal setting and the ‘Freedom in Christ’ discipleship course for those wanting to deepen their faith.  For details, call 01352 757477 or check out the website at www.kings-mold.org.uk.

Flying Colours

FLYING Colours for under fives and their carers meets every Friday morning at King’s from 9.30amuntil 11.15am for stories, songs, crafts and play with refreshments.

Discipleship course
A YOUTH ‘Freedom in Christ’ discipleship course for 15-18s is held in Mynydd Isa at 6pm on Sundays, call 01352 757477 to enrol.
 
Christian message
THE Agathos Trust supports local schools with the Christian message in the Mold area and will lead a service, to give thanks and pray for our local schools, at Ebenezer Baptist church, Mold on Sunday, November 15, at 6pm. All welcome. 
Agathos leads weekly clubs for pupils:
Rock Solid club is held at lunchtime on Wednesdays in the Hall or L14 at the Alun High School with games, crafts, activities and Christian reflection.
The Open Door club is held at lunchtime on Thursdays in Room 14 at Ysgol Maes Garmon for games, crafts, activities and Christian reflection.
