HOTELIER Stephanie Booth is hoping that a fly-on-the-wall BBC Wales TV documentary about her life will bring about a boost for the tourism industry in North Wales.
Mrs Booth runs six hotels in the area and filming for the shows took place in a number of locations which included Llangollen.
“They got 165 hours of film and that is now edited down to two hours for broadcasting on the programmes, which start to be screened on November 2 and run for four weeks,” said Mrs Booth.
“I don’t have any control over what they are choosing to put into the shows, but I hope that it will include items which will help to generate interest in the area among the television viewers.
“It could help in showcasing towns such as Llangollen and Ruthin.”
The six hotels which Mrs Booth runs are Bodidris Hall at Llandegla, the Bryn Howel, Chainbridge and Wild Pheasant at Llangollen, with the Castle and the Anchor both in Ruthin.
Mrs Booth said that apart from going to bed at night the camera crew was by her side all of the time, diligently making sure they captured everything going on in her busy life.
“It did take me a little bit of time to get used to at first. One stage early on I was walking down the street in Llangollen and everyone was looking over.
“It felt quite conspicuous with people filming all the while.
“But after a period I got used to it all really.”
