A LIFELONG Flintshire fan of crooner Engelbert Humperdinck gave her idol a cross-stitch she lovingly made of him.
Seamstress Gladys Johnson presented the singer, whose biggest hit Release Me hit the charts in 1966, with the picture in his dressing room after a concert at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
Cousin Anne Allen, of Clwyd Street, Shotton, said: “Engelbert gave a wonderful performance for a man of his age and was most charming and humble.
“He promised my cousin he would hang it up in his home in Leicester.”
