A PACKAGING company has moved to a £20 new million site in Flintshire, supporting 200 jobs in the process.

Excelsior Technologies has relocated from Flint to a new 8.5-acre site on Deeside Industrial Estate in a move that has been dubbed “the UK’s biggest single investment in flexible packaging for decades”.

The company, which makes food packaging, received a £1 million funding boost from the Welsh Assembly Government to help it make the move.

Ieuan Wyn Jones, minister for economy and transport, said: “This major investment in the current economic climate is particularly welcome and I am delighted the Welsh Assembly Government has been able to support Excelsior Technologies expand its operations in Wales.

“This investment will increase the company’s capacity and will also ensure that its Welsh operation becomes an important centre for research and development into new products.”
