A FLINTSHIRE dad-of-four died after suffering a massive heart attack by the side of a swimming pool while on holiday in Turkey.
The body of Les Trevorrow, 46, of Dee Road, Connah’s Quay, has been flown back to the UK and his funeral takes place on Monday.
Partner Joanne Powell described him as a “larger than life” character who lived life to the full.
Les, who used to work at his parents’ butchers in the Red Hall estate in Connah’s Quay, was on holiday with Joanne and her 11-year-old daughter Beth in the small resort of Oludeniz when the tragedy happened.
“We had only arrived the night before”, said Joanne.
“We got up in the morning and went to relax by the side of the pool.
“Les was in the pool, having a swim and messing around with Beth.
“Then he got out and had a little nap.
“I was in the pool with Beth at this point and I turned around and saw he was having a heart attack on the sun lounger.
“There was no history and it was so sudden – completely out of the blue.
”You can’t be sure, but I would say he died before he got into the ambulance.”
Les, a keen golfer and a regular at the Red Hall pub, in Connah’s Quay, worked for many years at the family butchers in Red Hall run by mum June and dad William, who died several years ago.
After his dad retired, he went on to work for a different butchers, Williams of Flint.
He leaves behind four children – Stephanie, 24, Daniel, 17, Rhys, 14 and Ashley, who turned 21 on July 21 – the day his dad died.
Grandaughter Halle turns three next week.
Les also had two sisters, Jeanette and Anne, and a brother called Paul.
Joanne said: “He was extremely sociable and lived life to the full.
“He was the life and soul of every party and very happy and outgoing.
“He loved to go on holiday. We will all miss him so much.”
Les’ body was flown back to the UK last Friday, and a post-mortem took place earlier this week.
North East Wales coroner said Mr Trevorrow died of natural causes.
His funeral takes place at 2pm on Monday at St Mark’s Church, in Connah’s Quay.
