A MUCH-LOVED Wrexham store will be closing its doors today after over 15-years of business (February 29).

The 'Secondhand Shed' announced it would be closing for good last month and sadly the day has finally arrived.

Owner Simon Hall admits he is 'absolutely gutted' the time has come to wave goodbye to the store.

After being located in Pen-Y-Bryn for over 12-years, the business moved to Lord Street in Wrexham just three-years ago.

A significant increase in rent and bills is said to have influenced Simon's decision as the cost-of-living crisis prevails.

On his final day in the store (February 29), the 51-year-old said: "In truth, I’m absolutely gutted, we have made so many friends and will miss the banter.

"A huge thanks to all of our customers for the support over the last 15+ years.

"We are told the store may now be going to a letting agent or an off licence."

Simon is yet to confirm any future plans at this stage but is eager to remain in the Wrexham business industry serving the community.

The Wrexham store is known for selling high quality used goods which customers say gives it a unique edge, but after what Mr Hall describes as being their worst Christmas period ever, he was left with no choice but to make the devastating decision.

All remaining stock following the closing down sale will then move online only.

Loyal customers and residents have expressed their disappointment at the news on Facebook and wish Simon all the best for his future.
