A WREXHAM leisure centre will remain 'temporarily closed' following a fire, staff have confirmed.

Two fire engines from Wrexham attended a "minor electrical fault" incident at Gwyn Evans Leisure Centre in Gwersyllt on Monday evening (February 26).

A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called just after 6pm due to an electrical panel overheating.

The leisure centre was evacuated as a precaution while the fire service dealt with the incident and a stop call was made at 7.15pm.

In a post on social media on Monday night, the leisure centre apologised for the closure and any inconvenience caused.
