A variety of vintage buses will be operating again on New Year’s Day between Wrexham and Chester building on the success of the last two events.

Last year over £1700 was raised for Nightingale House Hospice and organisers are hopeful they will be able to do the same again this year.

One of the event organisers Tim Hines says: “Once again we are operating two bus services, the main one between Wrexham and Chester and the other on a local Barker’s Lane circular using a mixture of heritage and more modern vehicles.

"Not only does this provide a good service between Wrexham and Chester on a day when there is no other service, it brings lots of families together to enjoy a ride on a Vintage vehicle.

"We are very grateful for any donations received which all go to the fantastic people at Nightingale House, we hope you will join us for a ride out in supporting them again this year.”

The main hub of the event is at Wrexham bus station where you will be able to see a few of the vehicles on display and others laying over between duties.

Event Programmes featuring information on the vehicles and the vehicle allocations will be available for £5 from the bus station and on some of the vehicles, again with the profits going to Nightingale House.

Event organiser George Walker said “It has been great to organise this event again, it’s now become a yearly tradition.

"This year Wrexham A.F.C. are playing at home so we have concentrated more buses between Rossett and Wrexham during the time before the match to help with people travelling into town.”

The buses run between 9am and 5pm, you can jump on at any stop along the usual Number 1 and local service route, just hold your hand out to jump on.
