WREXHAM'S brand new and highly-awaited M&S store has officially opened its doors to the public after months of planning.

Customers across Wrexham have patiently waited in the cold all morning for this moment - and the time has finally arrived.

Yesterday (November 30), M&S announced the store would be opening its doors an hour earlier than planned this morning with a new time of 9am.

We were invited inside for an exclusive sneak peek ahead of customers to see the new interior design and store layout.

An opening day of celebrations, Store Manager Mike Bolland said: “We are thrilled to officially open our brand-new store in Wrexham today. The last few weeks have been so exciting for us all as we’ve seen the store take shape, and I’d like to thank everyone in our team of 120 colleagues for all their hard work to make sure everything is ready for our customers today.

“The store is an exciting investment in the future of M&S in Wrexham, and I can’t wait for our customers to explore all the new features that the store has to offer. With our amazing new, fresh market feel Foodhall, we really do have the best of M&S here for everyone to enjoy!

“I’d also like to thank our partners who were able to join us this morning and for those who offered some tasty treats to our customers – they really helped add to the excitement and experience. We look forward to working with them all more closely in the future.”

The spacious 15,000 sq ft foodhall has everything to offer ahead of this festive season, from the retailer's much-anticipated range of Christmas food to an in-store fresh bakery.

In addition, there are new digital Click and Collect points for shopping at marksandspencer.com and an expanded M&S Frozen section – all making the shopping experience more convenient for local families.

M&S store manager Mike Bolland gave a touching speak to staff members before stepping outside to welcome customers.

Despite the cold, the atmosphere was cheerful and optimistic which was helped by the presence of M&S legends Percy Pig and Colin the Caterpillar.

The new-look M&S Foodhall represents a significant investment in Wrexham’s local economy. It comes following the retailer’s pledge to invest c.£480 million in its store rotation programme, subsequently creating over 3400 new jobs nationwide.

The new Foodhall is located inside Plas Coch Retail Park at Plas Coch Road, Wrexham LL11 2BW. Opening times are 8am-8pm Monday to Saturday and 10am-4pm Sunday.
