Here is how Flinthsire students got on in their A Level, AS Level and vocational qualifications today on results day (Thursday, August 17).

Students in sixth forms have been praised for their hard work, with these exams being the second to run since 2019 due to the pandemic.

Claire Homard, chief officer, Education and Youth in Flintshire Council, said: “I would like to extend my congratulations to all our post 16 learners on their results this year. Each student can be very proud of their achievements and I wish them every success in their future.

"I recognise the commitment of their families and their schools in supporting them throughout their study.

"It is important to also remind our students that results day is just one day in the bigger picture of their life. We know that for some students this can be a difficult time, with a range of emotions, and I would encourage any young person who might be struggling, to ask for support. I know that our very dedicated school staff will continue to offer support and advice to learners over the next few days and weeks in making choices about future pathways.”

"On behalf of the school, I send each and every one of our students sincere congratulations: we are very proud of them and wish them the very best for the future.

"I am also grateful to our teachers who work so hard to ensure that our students receive the support they need to develop as independent learners, in particular Mr Aled Owen, our head of Sixth Form, and his team of tutors who have regularly mentored the students. "
