Paranormal group from Wrexham in plea to explore new spooky venues

Staff reporter (Leader Live)

A GROUP of paranormal investigators is looking for new venues to visit.

The North Wales Paranormal Group, based in Wrexham, has investigated more than 150 sites since 2005 and are again looking for locations in and around Wrexham and the North Wales area.

The group, which has 12 members, can investigate any venue from small private homes up to larger buildings like pubs and shops for free, provided the site is based within 12 miles of Wrexham.

Mike Griffiths, a medium with the group, said: “We’ve done all sorts of places – halls, houses, even Talacre Lighthouse a few times and the WHSmith store in town.

“We’ve done a lot of pubs as well – and even as far as Sunderland and Leicester.

“One of the more difficult things can be finding trapped spirits. We try to send them over, that is one of the things we do – we don’t like to see them stuck.”

Mr Griffiths, 67, said he is ready to get back on with investigations after taking a break following the loss of his wife Lynn at the age of 66 to cancer two months ago.

He said: “She was first diagnosed two years ago and had treatment. Her scan showed it had gone but then another scan three months later found she had secondary cancer on the bottom of her lungs.

“She wasn’t an investigator with the group but she believed in everything I did and everybody knew her, so it was like she was part of the group.

“They asked me if I’d like to do some new investigations and I said I would like that.”

For investigations further than 12 miles away from Wrexham the group does charge for expenses.
