A FUN day was enjoyed by more than 100 residents and visitors to a Wrexham estate.
On Saturday residents on The Fairways estate came together for a fundraising day in aid of Nightingale House, with more than £2,000 being raised.
It was organised by resident Jemma Eastwood and her partner Jason Wilmott.
They chose to raise money for Nightingale House, for the care given to Jemma’s late husband Gavin Eastwood, who died from stomach cancer four years ago – leaving behind their two daughters Grace, eight, and Mollie, four.
Jemma said: “The care they gave, and to myself and the girls too, was fantastic.”
There were donkey rides, small fairground rides, penalty shoot-outs, various stalls and a dog show.
Jason said the day was a great success, adding: “It went tremendously well and everyone who was there really enjoyed it.
“We’re hoping to do the event again next year.
”The weather was good and we had no trouble at all. Everything was popular, from the donkeys and the dog show to the football and cakes.
”We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported the event and helped to raise the funds for Nightingale House.”
