Two men admit attempted robberies at Wrexham shops

Two men have admitted their part in two offences of attempting to robberies at  shops in Wrexham.

Aaron McKenzie, 26, from Gwenfro, Wrexham, and Ben Brown, 26, of Caia Park, Wrexham, were remanded in custody pending sentence.

They both appeared from custody at Mold Crown Court on Friday charged with attempted robbery of employees at the Spar in Chester Road, Wrexham, and at McColls in Rhosnesni, both on February 12.

They pleaded guilty and the case of a third defendant was put off for him to enter his pleas to the attempted robbery counts next week.

McKenzie also admitted burglary at Ffordd Dyfed in Wrexham and the aggravated taking of a Fiat.

Brown denied those charges, which were dropped against him.

In addition, McKenzie admitted aggravated vehicle taking on February 26 but denied a house burglary on the same date, which was accepted by the prosecution.
