HOW did Chester's players rate in their disappointing 4-2 defeat at Maidstone United on Saturday?
By their own admission, this was Chester's worst performance of the season, but they did at least boost up their marks slightly with an improved second-half display.
ALEX LYNCH: Recalled after missing the past three games and could've prevented the fourth goal, but redeemed himself in the second-half. 5
SAM HUGHES: Found Flisher and Mills too hot to handle in the first-half but did at least get on the scoresheet after the break. 5
BLAINE HUDSON: Confidence has clearly taken a knock in recent weeks and this wasn't the dominant performance we've come to expect. 4
RYAN ASTLES: His worst display for a long while. Worryingly looks slow on the turn and not as dependable in the air as usual. 4
EVAN HORWOOD: Questionable why he was deployed at left-back but recovered well second-half when pushed further forward. 5
LUKE GEORGE: The one Chester player to make a crunching tackle in the first-half, but couldn't make much impact in the centre. 5
WADE JOYCE: The game bypassed Joyce for long periods of the first-half and he was hauled off by McCarthy at the break. 4
ELLIOTT DURRELL: Full of effort and running but wasteful at times and should have buried his gilt-edged chance late on. 5
RYAN LLOYD: Wasted on the left-wing, but moved inside second-half and looked the Blues' most composed player. 6
TOM SHAW: Deployed in the hole behind Alabi but never got into the game and struggled to make any impact before he was cautioned. 4
JAMES ALABI: Isolated and cut a frustrated figure up front but looked reinvigorated second-half when Richards came on. Took his penalty well. 7
KANE RICHARDS: Looked lively and injected some much-needed pace into the Blues' attack and a good foil for Alabi. 7
ROSS KILLOCK: Great to see the 22-year-old back on the pitch after his injury nightmare and had a decent half in the left-back slot. 6
MAIDSTONE UNITED: Worgan 7, Nana-Twusami 6, Mills 8, Coyle 7, Lokko 8; Lewis 8, Flisher 7, Paxman 7, Prestedge 7; Sam-Yorke 8 (McCarthy 89), Pigott 8 (Taylor 75). Subs not used: Acheampong, Odubade, Lozu.
