REDS fans are in the process of trying to conquer Europe.

Wrexham FC legend Mickey Thomas and the club's commerical manager Steven Cook have joined with fans Mike Cooper and Michael Bradshaw to enter the Boom Banger Rally.

To mark the club's 150th anniversary, the group are taking on the three-day scramble across Europe in a Wrexham-themed Volkswagen Beetle.

Having set off from Rouen earlier today, they completed the first leg of the tour which took them to Le Mans – arriving in last place.

They will travel on to Paris, Val D'Isere and Monte Carlo before finishing in Nice on Sunday.

The group have been photographing their journey along the way so far – including the long drive from The Racecourse to the starting point.

Former Reds favourite Mickey Thomas said: “Although it's a long, long way, I am sure it will be a really good laugh for all of us taking part.

“More importantly it's great for the football club.

“Not only will we be raising the profile of the club in its 150th year, but we'll be raising much-needed funds for the club too.”
