A WOMAN in her 70s was taken to hospital after a two-car crash.

Police were called to the crash on the southbound A483 near Burton and Pulford just before 10.45am yesterday.

A North Wales Police spokesman said the crash, involving a Peugeot 207 and a Toyota Corolla, caused one car to collide with a hedge.

A spokesman for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said one casualty had to be cut free from their vehicle.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 10.42am today, Tuesday 19 August, to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the southbound carriageway of the A483, near Rossett.

“A paramedic in a rapid response car and crews in two emergency ambulances attended, and a woman in her 70s was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.”

The spokesman confirmed the woman’s injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

The crash caused tailbacks on the A483 after one lane was blocked, with traffic queuing back between B5445 Wrexham Road (Pulford Roundabout) and J7 B5102 Llay Road (Rossett).
