Motorcyclist sustains serious head injuries in Wrexham crash

A MOTORCYCLIST sustained serious head injuries in a crash.
The 28-year-old man, from the Birmingham area, was in a collision on the A525 near Bangor-on-Dee yesterday at about 10.15am.
North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash.
Sergeant Jane Thomas, of the roads policing unit, said: “Shortly after 10.15am on Sunday, August 17, North Wales Police and other emergency services responded to the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the A525 Bangor-on-Dee Wrexham, involving a black coloured BMW RR1000ss motorcycle.
“As a result of the collision the rider of the bike, a 28-year-old man, sustained serious head injuries.
“An investigation is now under way into the cause and I’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision, or seen the bike prior to the incident, to contact police on 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and quote reference RC14128779.”
The Welsh Air Ambulance Service sent two emergency ambulances and alerted the Welshpool-based Wales Air Ambulance following the crash.
The man was flown to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in Stoke-on-Trent.
