SUPERMAN, Mr Bean, Peppa Pig and even a Stormtrooper were among the characters making an appearance at a school fete.
Parents, teachers, pupils and friends of Acton Park School turned out in droves as the sun shone on the annual funday at the Box Lane site.
Attractions included pony rides, a fancy dress parade judged by the Stormtrooper from Star Wars films and a variety of fairground rides, all to raise cash for the school coffers.
Young band Copyright also entertained the crowds.
Jacqueline Patel, from the school’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA), said: “It went really, really well. It was great to see the crowds.
“There was a lot more going on than usual, there was the meet and greet area and where else could you see Peppa Pig high-fiving a Stormtrooper?
“My favourite was the Stormtrooper, but it was just brilliant seeing the children really enjoying it and of course, we had the sunshine.”
She added: “It was a really good turnout but I can’t say how many people attended just yet, we are still working it out and trying to calculate how much we have made.
“It wasn’t just parents and children, there were plenty of other people there as well so it was a real community event.
“It took a lot of planning, but it is always on the PTA agenda as one of the highlights and will be looking forward to next year’s event.”
