TRIBUTES have been paid to a former solicitor who “brought much laughter to those around him”.

Dai Prosser, 75, of Camlan, Stryt y Bydden, New Broughton, died at home in the early hours of Sunday morning after a long period of ill health.

Mr Prosser was a long serving solicitor and was a partner at GMA Solicitors on King Street, Wrexham.

The father-of-six, who also had seven grandchildren, retired from the firm through ill health in 2010.

His wife, Fran, told the Leader: “Dai was a kind and caring father and a gentle soul.

“He was a man of mountains and poetry and his eccentricity brought much laughter to those around him.”

His former colleague and close friend Mark Davies said: “Dai was fascinating company in addition to having an excellent legal mind.

“He was also one of the most interesting people to spend time with. He had an eclectic range of interests and was extremely knowledgeable in relation to poetry, literature, politics, history and natural history.

“Everyone who came into contact with Dai through work or socially would be enriched by his company.

“To call someone a character is an overused term, but in Dai's case it was entirely appropriate.

“He was a character in the true sense of the word and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Fran and family.”
