WREXHAM is set for its own music festival, with over 3,000 tickets to go on sale this morning.
Wrexposure Music Festival will take place on the town’s Llwyn Isaf field and will see stars such as X Factor’s Matt Cardle and Chris Maloney perform.
The one-day extravaganza of pop, which will take place on Saturday, September 20, has been organised by Eezy Events, who have recently been behind the popular Chester Rocks festival. They are working in partnership with Destination Wrexham, who are striving to improve the town’s tourism aspect.
An initial 3,500 tickets go on sale from the official website at 9am today, with tickets ranging from £21 to £56.
The Only Way Is Essex star Kirk Norcross will host the day of pop, which will also include performances from the Hoosiers, and 90s act N-Trance.
A series of regional bands are also set to be invited to perform.
Organiser Chris Parry, who also organises the Soapstar Soccerstar matches at the Glyndwr Racecourse Stadium, said he hoped the day would provide a springboard for local acts.
“It’s all in the name, we want to give Wrexham bands the exposure they deserve, whilst also putting on a top-class festival for people here,” he said.
“We’ve got some great artists booked and this is going to be a first for Wrexham. Our research suggested the town is crying out for an event like this, which will be similar to what we saw at Chester Rocks.
“Hopefully this will encourage people into the town and will provide an economic boost for businesses.”
General admission tickets are priced at £21 with golden circle tickets £31. VIP experience tickets are on sale for £56.
