Fans taking Wrexham towels into Europe

Staff reporter (Leader Live)

WREXHAM fans are continuing to take their beach towels on holiday with them.

The Leader offices have been inundated with entries for the Wrexham FC beach towel competition with the latest efforts stretching across mainland Europe.

Gareth Smith, of Ponciau, took his Reds 150th anniversary towel away with him to Fig Tree Bay, Cyprus, while Dave Simmons is pictured with his dryer in sunny Roquetas De Mar, Spain.

Sisters Ella and Freya Simmons were pictured with their Reds towel, lapping up the sun on holiday in Almeria, Portugal.

Since a competition was launched for readers to get in touch with their beach towels in exotic locations, Reds fans have been pictured all over the globe with their towels, from Corfu to Barbados.

The Leader is asking readers to send in holiday snaps capturing their Wrexham FC towels in every corner of the UK and the world. Pictures could feature the towel by a pool abroad, being used after a sporting challenge, unfurled in a city centre or simply shown off in a far-flung destination.

The Leader will print some of the best shots. Our favourite will win next season’s shirt, with entries accepted until the Reds start next season in August.

Anyone looking to submit a photo for the competition should include themselves and the towel in the shot and enclose information about when and where it was taken, as well as their full name, age, address and contact details.

Entries can be emailed to
