Second suspect sought over 'despicable' Holywell attack

A TEENAGER needed stitches to her face after a ‘despicable’ attack in broad daylight.

The 19-year-old was assaulted on Abbots Walk in Holywell with an unidentified weapon, resulting in a facial injury.

The woman, who was with a male friend, was attacked following an altercation with two men at around 2.45pm on Wednesday.

Holywell Councillor Peter Curtis expressed his shock at the horrific attack. He said: “Regardless of the reasons for the attack it is a despicable act.

“On Wednesday afternoons it is extremely quiet in the town and there are not a lot of people around to witness it.

“This really is dreadful.”

The victim sustained an injury to her cheek.

North Wales Police said that just before to the incident, the victim had been approached by one of the suspects outside the Old Police Station in Holywell. The victim was said to be wearing a bright red Nike t-shirt and grey jogging bottoms.

l One man was arrested following the incident and has been released on police bail.

Police are still searching for the second suspect.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed either incident or has any information to contact them on 101.
