A LABOURER followed a young woman along a footpath while indulging in a sexual act upon himself.

A woman who was walking the other way in Queensferry shouted a warning to her there was a man indulging in a sexual act behind her, a court heard.

Andrew Mark Bradley, 29, of New Road, Dobshill, admitted outraging public decency by committing the act in public during an incident on May 21.

He was fined £190 at Flintshire Magistrates Court with £105 costs, and he was ordered to pay £50 compensation to each of the two women who saw him.

Bradley told magistrates: “I am sorry. It will not happen again, I promise you.”

His solicitor David Matthews said his client had done it for his own sexual gratification.

He had not intended the woman he was following should see him and he had no intention whatsoever of doing anything to her.

Matthew Ellis, prosecuting, said at about 7.30pm a young woman was walking out of a subway and along a footpath alongside the A494 road when she felt the presence of someone behind her.

She saw he was making hand movements in the area of his crotch.

The victim felt uncomfortable and saw he was close behind her.

A woman walking the other way witnessed him exposing himself and indulging in a sexual act and shouted a warning to the young woman.

She returned home and saw her parents and they went out in the car looking for him.

They found him and detained him until the police arrived.

Arrested and interviewed, Bradley admitted he had been walking along the path and saw a woman he found attractive.

He opened his trousers and indulged in the act, he was very sorry and did regret what he had done.

Mr Matthews said his client was a young man of no previous convictions.

He was ashamed and very embarrassed.

Bradley worked for his father as a labourer. He was described as a car fanatic.

Magistrates described it was a nasty offence.
