SIX men arrested as a result of Operation Pallial will appear in court this week, facing 27 charges of serious sexual assault against two boys.
Five men have been charged with a total of 26 sex offences and have been bailed to appear at Mold Magistrates Court on June 12.
A sixth man from the Wrexham area has been summoned to appear at the same court hearing, charged with one offence of indecent assault against one
of the same two boys.
They were arrested following an investigation by the National Crime Agency.
An NCA spokesman confirmed all the offences are alleged to have taken place against two boys, both under 16-years-old, between 1981 and 1986.

These charges arise from the NCA’s Operation Pallial, an investigation into recent allegations of historical abuse in the care system in North Wales.
Mark Granger (aka Gary Cooke), 63, from Leicester, is charged with three counts of indecent assault and two serious sex assaults.
Marc Roy Norry, 54, from Connah’s Quay, is charged with four counts of indecent assault, one serious sex assault and one count of an attempted serious sex assault.
David Lightfoot, 71, of Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, has been charged with three counts of indecent assault, one count of buggery and one count of attempted buggery.
Edward Huxley, 69, from Maidenhead, Berkshire, has been charged with two counts of indecent assault.
Keith Stokes, 61, from Farndon, Chester, has been charged with three counts of indecent assault, three counts of gross indecency, one count of a serious sex assault and one count of an attempted serious sex assault.
A 62-year-old man from Wrexham has been summoned to appear at the same court to face one count of indecent assault.
This man will be named following his court appearance.
A total of nine people have so far been charged with offences by Operation Pallial.
In a statement, the NCA said: “The number of people coming forward to report historical allegations of abuse in the care system in North Wales continues to increase. Up to June 3, 2014, a total of 271 people have reported one or more allegations to us.
“Information given to us by 221 people is under active investigation at this time and has resulted in 46 people being identified as potential suspects.
“Of these 46 suspects, 20 suspects have been arrested and interviewed, eight more have voluntarily attended police stations for interview under caution and 16 are believed to have died.
Efforts to locate two others, one of whom may be abroad, are ongoing.
Work to identify further potential suspects is continuing.”
Granger was arrested on June 26, 2013.
Norry was arrested on October 16, 2013.
Lightfoot was arrested on January 14, 2014.
Huxley was arrested on December 3, 2013.
Stokes was arrested on July 24, 2013.
The 62-year-old Wrexham man voluntarily attended for interview on January 30, 2014.
