A BOY of 15 has been sent to the crown court on serious sexual charges against a young girl.
The boy from the Wrexham area faces three specimen charges of penetrative sexual assault involving oral sex, inciting her to engage in sexual activity and sexual touching.
A youth court at Mold yesterday heard the complainant was aged just five.
The boy, who cannot be publicly identified because of his age, indicated guilty pleas through his solicitor Kathryn Jagger.
District judge Andrew Shaw committed the case for sentence to Mold Crown Court next month.
Reports and assessments of the boy, who was released on bail, will be prepared by the youth justice service.
Alun Humphreys, prosecuting, said the charge of penetrative sexual assault with a girl under the age of 13 was the most serious offence which for an adult could attract a sentence of between 13 and 19 years.
Even with a 50 per cent reduction because of the boy’s age, and a further reduction for a guilty plea, the case was still outside the powers of the magistrates court, he said.
