THE body of a young man reported missing from home was spotted by his friend as he travelled to college by train, it was revealed at the opening of an inquest into his death.
The friend, who was on his way to Glyndwr University in Wrexham, called police and Daniel Starr’s father Stephen, who made his way to the scene near the RAF firing range between Shotton and Neston.
The 21-year-old from Heythrop Drive, Heswall, Wirral, had been reported missing after being out with friends and his body was found on Monday, May 12 near the railway track.
At the opening of an inquest in Ruthin John Gittins, the coroner for North Wales East and Central, said Home Office pathologist Dr Brian Rodgers had deferred a decision on the cause of death after sending samples for toxicology tests.
The inquest was adjourned to a full hearing in October.
