A TEENAGER has died after he was hit by a car in the early hours of New Year's Day.
The 17-year-old was involved in a collision with a white Volkswagen Polo at 12.37am.
It happened on Mold Road, Gwersyllt, just outside the park entrance.
The young man, who has not been named by police, was taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital where he died yesterday evening.
A spokesman for North Wales Police said: "The young male suffered serious head injuries and multiple injuries to his body and was transferred directly to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
"The male pedestrian has died in hospital this evening and investigations are ongoing."
