Wrexham ended 2012 with a 2-2 draw against Tamworth at The Racecourse as they missed the opportunity to move up to second place in the table.
The Reds took the lead after 26 minutes.
The returning Neil Ashton struck the crossbar from long range and although Nick Rushton's effort was blocked, Brett Ormerod fired home.
But the lead was shortlived as Tamworth equalised just three minutes later, Connor Gudger getting on the end of Lee Hendie's cross.
Wrexham skipper Dean Keates was controversially shown a second yellow card in the 52nd minute as he appeared to win the ball when challenging Peter Till.
But despite being down to 10 men, Wrexham were back in the lead on 73 minutes as Danny Wright took down Ormerod's centre and converted past keeper Tony Breeden.
Tamworth pressed for an equaliser and it came five minutes from time, Scott Barrow finding the net with a 25-yard free-kick.
WREXHAM (4-3-3): Mayebi; Alfei, Westwood, Riley, Ashton; Harris, Keates, Clarke; Danny Wright, Ormerod (Walker 77), Rushton (Hunt 57). Subs not used: Cieslewicz, Little, Reid.
