DELYN MP David Hanson has cancelled a trip to Christchurch after an earthquake hit New Zealand.
At least 65 people have died after the earthquake hit Christchurch during lunchtime.
Mr Hanson is in New Zealand with other MPs representing the Speaker and the House of Commons to the New Zealand Parliament.
He said: “I was in the House of Commons in New Zealand meeting with MPs in the Parliament building in Wellington when the earthquake struck.
“There was obviously a great deal of concern and worry at the quake
“Part of my visit was to go to Christchurch to look at reconstruction from the earthquake in September 2010 - this part of the trip has now been cancelled."
