A DISABLED man was left unable to shower properly for two weeks after a sudden fall in his street’s water pressure.

David Kelly, of Whitehurst Gardens, Chirk, complained to the council after the pressure fell.

It meant that Mr Kelly and others in the same road did not have enough water to have a shower and struggled to flush their toilets. Mr Kelly said: “Dee Valley Water came out and found that it was council pipes.

“A man said the pipes were broken and filthy and I’m not happy we have had to drink filthy, contaminated water.”

Fred Czulowski, Wrexham Council’s landlord services manager, said: “We have carried out a site survey with Dee Valley Water. It has been established that there is an underground leak at one of the properties in Whitehurst Gardens.”

Mr Czulowski said work was due to start and finish on Friday to put it right.
He added: “We will carry out further checks to see if we need to replace water mains to other properties in Whitehurst.”
