A site at Black Park, Chirk, is being considered for a travellers site.

Other sites are at a former sewerage treatment works at Coed-y-Felin Road, Brymbo or an extension to the existing site in Ruthin Road, Wrexham.

Protesters from Chirk say: “This petition has been signed by 1,173 people in a very short space of time and by customers who visit McDonald’s. We also have a facebook site with 462 members so far.

“We hope this will convey the feeling from the people of Chirk and surrounding area that we do not want this site here.

“Please take note of the residents’ feelings and invest in our community to provide local jobs for the people of the Chirk and Halton areas.”
