A MASSIVE search operation has been launched to find a missing Flintshire woman.
Coastguard boats, a helicopter and police on the ground have been searching for Pauline Annette Edwards who was reported missing from Trefor near Caernarfon on Friday afternoon.
The 68-year-old is from Buckley but was staying in the Caernarfon area. She was reported missing at about 4pm.
North Wales Police immediately began a search of the area and Holyhead coastguard boats scoured the sea off the coast.
The Porthdinllaen Lifeboat based in Gwynedd was one of the boats searching for the woman from 12.50am on Saturday.
Coxswain Mike Davies said: “We went to Trefor and searched around the pier.
“We also went down the coast as far as we could and came back at about 3.30am.”
Mr Davies said they returned at 12.30pm and began another search along the beach and around the pier.
“We went three or four miles down the coast again and all the way back to Trefor,” he said.
“It is a big operation.
“All we know is that she is from Buckley and had been staying in Trefor.”
He believed the police were using the community hall as a base for their operations.
The RAF Sea King helicopter also joined the search on Saturday and Sunday but to no avail.
North Wales Police brought in search and rescue dogs to help in the search for her on Saturday afternoon.
Cllr Neville Phillips, who covers the Buckley Bistre West ward, said: “You have got to feel sorry for anyone concerned with the family of the missing woman.”
She is described as 5ft 2ins tall with collar length straight brown hair, slim build and when last seen was wearing a black coat with a fur collar, three quarter length black trousers and black boots.
