A CAR went up in flames in a Wrexham supermarket carpark on Wednesday morning.
The fire, which has been described as accidental by the Fire Service, started shortly after the customer arrived at the Co-op store in Rossett at around 8.20am this morning, with reports from an unnamed onlooker suggesting the flames reached about 12 feet in height.

A spokesman for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said that two appliances from Wrexham were sent to the scene at 8.23am, with the fire resulting in 100 percent damage to the engine compartment of the vehicle, with the passenger side also being partially destroyed.
They said: "The fire was accidental and by the time we arrived at the scene, it had spread to the shop itself with heat and smoke causing 50 percent damage to the windows and guttering of the store."

The exact cause of the fire is not yet known and a spokesman for the Co-op confirmed the Fire Service had been in attendance, but that the store had re-opened to the public.
They said: "I can confirm that the store re-opened at 10am, and is now open to serve the community."
