PROPOSALS for several lodges in Cilcan have been given the green light.
A planning application received by Flintshire Council earlier this year requested permission for eight holiday lodges in Cefn Road.
The council has now announced that permission for the scheme has been granted by planning officers.
A design and access statement submitted with the plans explains: "The site is currently classified for industrial purposes - formerly it was used as a timber yard.
"In more recent times it is used for plant vehicle storage and associated materials storage.
"Some of the buildings on the site are in a poor state of repair and it is intended by the business owner to re-locate the plant vehicles to more suitable site on an industrial park.
"The proposal aims to provide high quality holiday rental accommodation, which will provide substantial numbers of
visitors to the area generating business for the local shops, public houses and visiting local attractions within the vicinity and wider area.
"It will also allow an industrial site to be transformed into primarily a leisure facility which is more visually pleasing and a more appropriate development in an area of outstanding natural beauty."
