A WREXHAM village is to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War by displaying the figures of silhouetted soldiers.
Llay Community council have agreed to purchase the three silhouettes, with each one being about six foot high, and they will be displayed in three different locations across the village.
The Church of Saint Martin of Tours, the cemetery and the Royal British Legion have been chosen as the ideal places within the village to pay respects to those who fell during the conflict.
Chair of the Community Council Bryan Apsley said the silhouettes would be a fitting way for the village to mark the end of the First World War but that they also represented a good investment that can be used year on year and if need be, in other locations.
Cllr Aplsey said: "I am sure people can make cases to us and where they can be displayed in the future, but the chosen locations seemed the most suitable in the first instance."
