A DRUNK was found shouting and wearing only his shorts in the street in the early hours of the morning.

He had been banging on the door of a house and asking for a man.

The man did not live there and it was clear he had got the wrong house, North East Wales Magistrates’ Court at Mold was told.

Joseph Frederick Thomas, 34, of Maude Street in Connah’s Quay, admitted a public order charge following the incident at 2.50am on September 9 in Lon Derwen, Connah’s Quay.

He was fined £85 with £80 costs and a £36 surcharge.

Prosecutor Rhian Jackson said police were called to a report of a man kicking a door in Lon Derwen.

He was found slumped at the location and there were a number of people in the street, including the people who had been disturbed.

The defendant was unsteady on his feet, his speech was slurred, and he shouted foul abuse.

He was handcuffed and placed in a police car and the occupants of the house where he had been knocking told officers they had no idea who he was.

They said he had turned up and had been kicking their door and shouting the name of a male who did not live there.

Nick Cross described it as a “night of drunken stupor.”

He could not find a friend and said he had initially knocked on the door.

It was a relatively short lived incident.

He had not drunk alcohol since and had no intention of doing so.

His client had not been in trouble for some time which he had put down to the fact that he had stopped drinking.

On this occasion he made a foolish mistake and had been drinking with friends, which he did regret, explained Mr Cross.
