A BIKER who self-medicated on cannabis to help him sleep was caught drug riding.
Ryder George James, 25, of Bryn Offa, Mynydd Isa, admitted driving with 10 milligrammes of cannabis in his blood compared to the legal limit of two.
Gary Harvey, defending, told North East Wales Magistrates Court his client was a cannabis user.
He had health issues and suffered from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Harvey appreciated it was against the law but he used cannabis to help him sleep.
Mr Harvey told the Mold court the problem was that it was still in his system when he went out on his motorcycle.
James was banned from driving for a year and was fined £120 with £85 costs and a £35 surcharge after he was stopped riding a 125cc motorcycle in Mold Road, Mynydd Isa, on June 26.
Mr Harvey said police officers who had followed his client had complimented him on his riding skills.
