A WALKER was taken to hospital after sustaining a serious injury over the weekend.
North East Wales Search and Rescue (NEWSAR) confirmed over the weekend that its team was called out to assist a man who had sustained a serious lower leg injury while out walking in woodland near Northop Hall.
A spokesman for the charity said: "Our team doctor provided treatment alongside a Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust paramedic.
"The casualty was then stretchered to our Land Rover ambulance.
"Once at the road the casualty was handed over to a WAST (Welsh Ambulance Service Trust) ambulance and taken to hospital.
"Thanks also to The Wepre Park wardens service and a local farmer who provided close access to the site."
