A FATHER who said he was bullied until the age of 30 has launched a new anti-bullying campaign at his daughter's school.

Phil Bousfield, of Sychdyn, has put plans in motion to raise awareness of, and end the stigma surrounding bullying in schools and the workplace.

Mr Bousfield, 44, explained how he suffered with club foot for many years during his childhood, forcing him to undergo a below-the-knee amputation on his right leg some time ago.

He said: "I've been bullied almost all my life with my foot - until I was a grown man of 30 years old.

The Leader:

"I've just set up voluntarily my own campaign in the Alun School in Mold, where one of my two daughters has just started in year seven.

"I've been into the school and gave a big speech to the school council about how I was bullied, and how far I've come.

"I want to help put a stop to bullying because I know what it feels like."

Phil has also ignored those bullies and didn't let negative comments affect his day to day life.

He has undergone various long-haul cycles from Chester to Llandudno for the Limbless Association, a charity he is an ambassador for in North Wales.

As part of the anti-bullying scheme, Phil will be visiting the Alun every Tuesday to host talks and workshops.

In February 2019, he will also be leading a "massive production in Theatr Clwyd" to raise awareness of bullying, and to get pupils involved with a proactive and positive community project.
