Class B drugs were found in a Milford Haven man’s home after suspicions were raised by police officers in his kitchen.

Anthony Marcus Jones, of Hawthorn Path, pleaded guilty to possession of amphetamine and cannabis when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, September 18.

The court heard that Jones, 42, was found with 1.09g of amphetamine and half a gram of cannabis in his possession.

Vaughan Pritchard-Jones, prosecuting, said police called at Jones’ home to speak to him about an unrelated matter on April 5.

“While in the kitchen they suspected there may be some dugs in the property. They searched and found these small amounts of drugs which he admitted were his.”

Mark Layton, defending, told the court that the drugs had a total estimated street value of £15.90.

He added: “The amphetamine had been in his property for some time and was rather old.”

Magistrates fined Jones £60 and ordered him to pay £85 costs plus a £30 surcharge.

The bench made a destruction order for the seized drugs.
