This year’s Scarecrow Competition attracted plenty of community support.
Taking place in Berwyn Avenue in Chirk Bank, there were just under 20 entries for the Best Scarecrow competition which saw models of all shapes and sizes.
The competition raised a total of £250 for the community, with an extra £90 raised on the raffle which will go towards Prostate Cancer.
Organiser of the competition, Angela Bright, was very pleased with how the day went.
“It all went really well,” she said.
“It rained for five minutes but it didn’t dampen anybody’s spirits at all.
“The whole community came out and supported the competition which is great.”
The winner of the scarecrow competition was Mrs Ellie St John and the winner of the tallest sunflower competition was Rod Bright – Angela’s husband.
“I promise I didn’t cheat! Rod was really chuffed to win,” continued Angela.
