AN ARGUMENT with his wife led to a Flint man losing his driving licence.

Piotr Jokob Kiolkowski, 36, was spotted by a police officer speaking on his mobile phone while driving his black Seat at Church Street in Connah’s Quay on March 23.

Kiolkowski, who already had nine penalty points on his licence, was fined £120 with £85 costs and a £30 surcharge at Flintshire Magistrates Court after he admitted using a hand held device while driving.

He received an additional three penalty points and was banned from driving for six months under the totting up procedure

Magistrates at the Mold court heard that he had argued with his wife.

“The argument was the reason I took the phone call,” he explained.

An application that a ban would cause exceptional hardship was rejected by the magistrates.

Via a Polish interpreter he said he worked at a food factory in Buckley and needed his driving licence for childcare arrangements.
