The Co-op in Ruabon Road, Johnstown, is back open for business after being targeted by criminals over the weekend.

A spokesman for the Co-op said yesterday: “There was an incident at our Ruabon Road, Johnstown, store at around 11.30pm on Saturday where an unsuccessful attempt on the community’s ATM took place.

“We would like to thank the police for the speed of their response and we appeal for anyone with information to come forward to police, who are investigating.

"The store has now re-opened to serve the community.”

The spokesman added: “The Co-op works closely with police and other crime prevention bodies, implementing a range of measures designed to deter and disrupt criminal activity and increasing the likelihood of capture and conviction.”
