MENAI Bridge Tigers extended their perfect start to the Gwynedd League season with a resounding 4-0 home success over Mynydd Tigers.

The early pacesetters have been a class apart during the initial stages of the campaign, winning each of their opening seven games to open up a six-point advantage at the summit.

The home side wasted no time in stamping their mark on proceedings as Sion Hogan broke the deadlock after just four minutes, with Dean Redmond adding a second a minute before the half-hour mark.

Redmond was on hand to extend their tally further after the interval with his second of the afternoon after 62 minutes, and Bridge wrapped up the points thanks to a Kevin Roberts strike with 70 gone.

Gwalchmai now occupy second position after a hard-fought 2-0 home victory over in-form Nefyn United.

A tense contest was turned on its head when Daniel Roberts put the ball into his own net to give the hosts a crucial lead on 65 minutes, and this was swiftly followed by a neat finish from Cian Owen on 70 to round off the scoring.

Goals from Daniel Jones and Sam Reagan were enough to give Bro Goronwy a 2-0 triumph at Bontnewydd, with Darren Parry and Jack Jones’ second half strikes securing a 2-2 draw for Llanystumdwy at Waunfawr.

Talysarn Celts and Llangoed were involved in an 11-goal thriller that went the way of Celts as Glyn Tomos fired a hat-trick in their 7-4 home win.
