AN APPEAL is being made to trace the relatives of a First World War soldier.

As part of Wrexham Symphony Orchestra's First World War commemoration project, volunteers are working on a small number of community type projects, and seeking to engage with members of the community who have a connection with the First World War and war in general.

The focus is 'War and its impact on families and communities', and during a research project at Wrexham Archive a soldier from Wrexham was identified as Private Thomas Lloyd.

He was born in 1888 and died in France on September 23, 1917. He lived in Penyfron Cottages, Gyfelin, Wrexham with his wife Caroline and six children. He is entered in the census of 1911, reference number 200852.

Members of the orchestra are interested in discovering any relatives of his in the area and engaging with them about Thomas.
