PRESTATYN Sports have bolstered their squad with two impressive signings in the form of Ben Cawley and Dave Collins.

The duo arrived at the newly promoted Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One side from neighbours Prestatyn Town, and both have impressed considerably for Mark Hughes and John Hargreaves’ men since their arrival.

Cawley played a hugely influential role in Kinmel Bay’s Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division side last term, netting 20 times throughout the campaign before making the move to the Motion Finance Stadium with the management team of Leon Field and Ryan Turner.

The left-sided attacker found chances limited for the second-tier side despite impressing during pre-season, and the signing is set to offset the loss of striker Ian Griffiths who made the opposite move late last week.

Sports also swooped to sign talented midfielder Collins from Field and Turner’s squad and he hit the ground running with a brace in their JD Welsh Cup success over Pentraeth to enable them to progress to the next qualifying round.

He also enjoyed an eye-catching spell with Abergele Town in recent years.

A club spokesman, said: “David's a player we have wanted for a few years, but it always seemed the timing was never right for him to come to Sports, but now is the time.

“He knows the lads well, he knows how we play and he's experienced enough to know how tough the league is, and he's hungry to get playing again.”
