A FUN day has been held for youngsters as a reward for their community spirit shown when taking part in a clean-up.

Residents from the Rosehill area of Brynteg got together for a community day where youngsters helped out with a litter-pick of the area and enjoyed a range of fun activities.

“It was brilliant to get together with residents of all ages and chat with them about any housing concerns they may have while having a great time as well,” said Clwyd Alyn’s community development officer Louise Blackwell who helped organise the event along with community development assistant Julie Evans and housing team members Ami Jones and Sally Tonks.

She added: “We were joined by the North Wales Fire and Rescue Services team who shared fire safety advice, and as well as arranging for a skip for residents to dispose of any unwanted items, Urban Fusion provided a dance session to keep us on our toes.

"Wrexham County Borough Council also joined us to provide some a ‘Street Games’ session and Picture House Films, who were doing some filing for Clwyd Alyn brought, along a table full of wonderful treats for us to enjoy too.

“There was cake-decorating and eating and TherMals, the animal therapy group bought along their Shetland pony for us to meet.

“We’d like to thank everyone who helped out, especially all the young people who made a real difference to the area."
