TRAVELLERS who arrived on a town's rugby field left because of a shortage of work, police have said.
Police were made aware of people gaining access to Lead Mills in Mold.
Sgt Neil Hughes of North Wales Police Flintshire south Safer Neighbourhood Team, told the Leader: "I went to speak to the Travellers and they told me they move around in convoy looking for work like hedge trimming, doing lawns and cutting down trees.
"They came here looking for jobs but they were struggling to find any, so they left."
He added the encampment fully complied with Flintshire Council regulations.
