AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a boat was dumped down a lane.

Flintshire Council confirmed it has been made aware of the fly-tipping incident down Pinfold Lane in Alltami.

The dumped boat was snapped on Twitter by Richard Davies on Friday, who said: "Alltami preparing for a biblical flood, not sure how many animals you’ll get in that though."

Buckley Mountain ward councillor Carol Ellis told the Leader: "Fly-tipping is a big issue for the whole county.

"Nobody wants rubbish dumping by their property.

"It is a great cost to the county to recover it, as well as being an inconvenience for people who have to report it."

Cllr Ellis called on anyone who saw the boat being dumped to come forward to Flintshire Council's streetscene department, adding: "Did anyone see it? Surely it had to be brought there on a trailer.

"It's very worrying when this sort of thing is fly-tipped."

Steve Jones, chief officer for streetscene at Flintshire Council confirmed the authority is investigating the incident.
