A VILLAGE festival brought out the crowds for a day of a day of family fun.

The Llay Festival Fun Day took place on Saturday, bringing the community together at the village resource centre for a wide range of attractions.

Activities at the event included the chance to have pictures taken with the North Wales Blood Bikes, therapy dogs and gymnastic performances form the Olympus Gymnastics Club.

Wrexham Rugby Club members also hosted several mini games and coaching sessions, as well as having a rugby prize themed raffle.

Another of the highlights was Lenny the horse, from the HACK Horse Sanctuary, who spent the day in the Rockery Gardens for photos.

Llay County Councillor Rob Walsh was among those who attended and said the event was a credit to the organisers, Llay in Partnership.

He said: "It was very well organised and everyone had worked hard for the event.

"There was lots going on and plenty to do.

"I think it was very successful."
